Firefox - Stay Safe And Private
We all love surfing the Internet but we don’t all know how we can stay safe and private online - it’s so important today as more and more people are learning how to hack into your computer and are ready to snoop through your private documents.
Using Firefox, one of the most successful Internet browsers available, you can stay safe, secure and private following these few simple, yet effective, tips - don’t let hackers in anymore;
History
Address bar history can be very handy, but they don’t keep your history very private - it’s easy to get rid of the history popping up like it does so if you are concerned about anyone else seeing your history so easily make sure you turn off the option.
By getting rid of history simply go to the address bar and open the drop down menu to show the history - then all you have to do is select the sites you want to remove and press delete. Bye bye history, hello privacy.
Malware
Malware crops up anywhere - you would think that you would have to visit a malicious site or download a nasty application to get infected with Malware. Actually, you can get Malware from your favourite social networking sites or other sites you often frequent.
You should get a Malware detection tool that attempts to keep your computer protected against Malware - you can download tools that manage to block content from running on certain pages unless you actually want them to run. This is a great way of making sure you are in control.
Bookmarks
If you like to keep your bookmarks private then you should think about storing your favourite sites online - this is perfect if you share a computer but you don’t want to share your favourite pages.
Do a search for different services available - you will generally find that services offer to upload your favourites list which will then be able to be easily accessed from anywhere on the Internet.
Undercover
If you like to check your Facebook profile while at the office then you should get your hands on a software like Ghostfox - with this software you can browse the web without worrying about getting caught by your boss jumping up over the cubicle wall.
You can hide Firefox with a magical mouse move or you can even use Firefox in applications like Paint for example so it doesn’t even look like you’re doing what you are indeed doing.
Master Password
Although it’s really useful to fall back on Firefox when it comes to remembering passwords, it’s only a safe activity when you first set up Firefox master password.
To do this simply go to Tools and then Options and select the Security icon. Check the Remember Passwords for sites and Use a Master Password. Your passwords will be secure from now on.
