iPhone - App Essentials
Although Apple have managed to enjoy major success with their AppStore a quick search will tell you that not every item available for download is a gem - in fact you’ll find that there is a load of naff apps out there ready and happy to run off with your money.
There are, however, a few little beauties that are actually pretty darn essential without which we wouldn’t be able to survive…(a bit dramatic but you get my meaning…)
If social networking is your bag then you can’t get by without this helpful little app that manages to keep you connected with your chums over the Facebook network.
Never again will you have to sit through a funny moment without being able to write about it on Facebook and keep your mates up to date. Keep poking your mates, writing to them and updating your status all from your iPhone.
Tweetie
Some people have decided to add Twitter to their social networking needs - it appears that we can’t get through 10 minutes without filling the world in with a pointless mini-blog and Tweetie manages to keep you tweeting no matter where you are.
Tweetie keeps the whole process simple - after all there is precious little involved in Twitter so it’s nice to use an app that doesn’t over complicate it.
Tap Tap Revenge 2
The iPhone has fashioned quite a sophisticated name for itself in the portable and mobile gaming world - Tap Tap Revenge was one of the best selling iPhone games available so it’s obvious that the second instalment would be just as essential.
Get strumming with your fingers in Guitar Hero-esque fashion and play away those boring hours stuck on the bus on your way home - you may look like you’re having a panic attack but who cares when you’re having such fun…
Superball 3
Classic games are great but they’re even better when they’re given a face-lift and brought forward to the 21st Century. Superball brings all the fun of Breakout (where you bounce a ball upwards to bang away at bricks).
Superball 3 manages to bring the addictive aspects of Breakout with some tasty modernised graphics - a winning combination.
Wolfenstein 3D Classic
Back when computer games were made out of 8 shades of gray and all you were given for fun was a bunch of circles and squares, Wolfenstein managed to take things to the next level - the game that brought us so much fun as children has now been transposed to the iPhone in an all out shout-out session.
If old-skool gaming gets you every time then this is definitely an essential download for you - get it now!
Essentials - Do you have ‘em?
Do you have any of the essentials in our list? There are a few more in the AppStore that we could still call essentials…which ones would you suggest? Let us know by leaving a comment…
