Poor Paris loses Blackberry

Poor old Paris Hilton has hit the headlines again for losing her Blackberry Smartphone - in usual dramatic fashion the first statement out of the Hilton camp is that the loss is obviously “the worst thing that could have happened”.� Forget world hunger and mass murder, Paris has lost her Blackberry…

The biggest issues that Paris Hilton is worried about are the details of her chums which can be found clear as day on her handset - if the wrong person picked up the phone and realized what they had stumbled across they could make prank calls until the cows came home…

A new meaning to “The Simple Life” without her Blackberry…

Apparently, the Smartphone, predominantly used by business-folk, was misplaced at an alcohol-fueled all-nighter at the Hotel Du Cap in Cannes last week.

In a statement, Hilton said, “I don’t know where or when it went missing but I know I’ve got to find it.

“It’s the worst thing that could have happened. It has all my contacts in it and the last thing I want is for it to fall into the wrong hands.”

This is not the first mobile phone drama for Hilton who had her Sidekick hacked into a few years ago - the problem is Paris doesn’t know how to keep her handsets safe…read on and you will have one up over her!

Viruses

You need to see your Blackberry like your personal computer at home and treat it in a similar way!� You need to kit out your handset with the necessary virus and malware protection as you can be attacked just as easily as you could on your PC.

You have just as much to lose as you would on your computer - a hacker can take more than just your text messages now-a-days - you can lose all your money if the wrong hacker finds his way on to your Blackberry so stay safe.

Be Discreet

When you are using the ATM and you’re inputting your PIN number you don’t stand back so everyone can watch, you cover the pad with your body or your hand…you are aware that you need to be discreet - the same applies with your Blackberry.

You should keep your Blackberry away from prying eyes in order to keep your private information private.� If you don’t want the guy sitting next to you to read your private emails then be discreet!

Back Up

If, like poor Paris, you have indeed lost your Blackberry, then you should have taken the steps to ensure that you have a back-up copy of all your information on a separate computer.� There is even software that you can get hold of that allows you to remotely lock or wipe the handset - something that Paris should have considered!
