iPhone vs. Blackberry Storm
Sometimes choices can be great - but what do you do when you can’t decide whether you need a Blackberry in your life or an iPhone? Sure, the iPhone has obviously received massive acclaim throughout the mobile world for being a trendsetting beauty of a Smartphone, the Blackberry Storm on the other hand has been attracting a great deal of attention.
So whether you’re a Blackberry or iPhone lover you should be interested to find out the differences between the two handsets;
Keyboard
Let’s start at the heart - the keyboard. Texting came to our fingertips years ago and so far has nestled its way into our hearts. So which handset is better for texting, writing emails and searching the web? Blackberry handsets usually bring complete QWERTY keyboards but the storm actually fails to deliver. However most people would agree that a keyboard that you can touch is much better than a virtual one that takes an age to master.
Blackberry made a name for itself for providing one of the best email services on a handset. Today its email services are still unrivalled and there’s precious little the guys at Apple can do about it. Blackberries download new messages immediately while the iPhone needs to be constantly checked by the user for a start.
Applications
While Blackberry made their name with their great email service there’s no denying the AppStore’s influence on the iPhone. The iPhone can put down a lot of its success to the AppStore providing users with apps from games to maps. The Blackberry apps don’t even come close to touching the AppStore.
Surfing the Web
Safari is a great piece of software that has been used successfully on Macs everywhere - now you can use the smashing piece of kit on your iPhone in pretty much a similar way. The Blackberry however doesn’t feel in the mood to put web surfing at the top of its priority list and provides a simple browser that just doesn’t please.
Camera
The iPhone killers that have been popping up here, there and everywhere have been boasting 8MP cameras until they’re blue in the face but people still go back to the iPhone with it’s simple 2MP camera…why? Maybe because people just don’t care anymore? But between the iPhone and the Blackberry the iPhone will lose. The Blackberry supplies 3.2MP while we all know the iPhone’s camera just isn’t up to scratch. However if you want a camera then go somewhere else.
Call Quality
There isn’t much separating the two phones here - both the Blackberry and iPhone deliver pretty good RF reception.
Who wins?
When it boils down to it, it’s the iPhone that takes the prize everyday. The Blackberry is a great piece of equipment if you are running 7 businesses while catching the train from Scotland to London and you want to email every 5 seconds, but for the rest of us who want a Smartphone to surf the web, play music, watch videos, play games, etc. the iPhone is the obvious choice.
