A Billion Apps!
As the AppStore manages to reach its one billionth download in amazing time, we take a look at some of the top apps available that have been pushing the sales through the roof.
Sky Remote Record
Sometimes you live life so fast that you find yourself half way down the tube tracks on the way to walk when you remember that you forgot to record your favourite programme on your Sky+ box. Well now you don’t have to express a worried breath as you can simply do it from where ever you are using this little app…talk about helpful!
Tap Tap Revenge
There aren’t many lists that aren’t featuring this popular title - in fact Tap Tap has now become the highest selling app to feature on the AppStore ever. Imagine Guitar Hero on your iPhone using your fingers to tap out the notes - let’s rock!
Shazam
How many times have you heard a song on the radio that you love but you didn’t know the name of the artist or song - with Shazam you will never be left in the dark again. All you have to do is hold your iPhone up to the speaker and let the app do the rest.
Last FM
This app is becoming one of the most popular little dudes on the AppStore for the simple fact that it supplies your ear drums with the soothing sounds of pretty much any track that you could want through the glorious technology of Wi-Fi.
Ocarina
When the guys at Apple created the iPhone they unfortunately forgot to attach the instrument that allowed you to play tranquil sounds into the night - that’s why we have Ocarina on the AppStore. As you can imagine this app turns your iPhone into a beautiful sounding wind instrument that sounds when you blow into the microphone and is controlled by touching the screen.
MMS
Obviously it would have been too much to give us MMS and a 5MP camera. We can’t do anything about the camera just yet but we can at least use MMS to send pictures and sounds to our mates. SMS is sooooooo old!
Flixster
Catch up on what’s out there on the silver screen with this app - watch trailers and find out where the movies are showing as close to you as possible. See, GPS can be so helpful!
London Tube
Right, if you’re in London then this app is obviously great and if you’re not in London then it’s not quite as helpful. This app brings tube information directly to your iPhone - we’re talking tube maps, service updates and journal planners and you can even plan your route if you’re that bored.
Did you contribute?
Apple have just sold their billionth app, but did you help to contribute to their massive sales figures? How many apps did you buy over your iPhone experience? How many apps from our list do you have on your iPhone? Let us know…
