And the winner is…
The results are in and the country’s fastest Mobile Broadband provider has finally been revealed. An independent survey has found that T-Mobile is the fastest provider of the mobile technology, news I’m sure they’ll appreciate.
The tests on the services in Britain were made in the final quarter of 2008 by the independent company P3 Solutions and saw T-Mobile soar to victory, providing the fastest mobile broadband above the likes of O2, 3 and Vodafone.
P3 Solutions tested the mobile broadband services for stability and reliability and tested the services in 16 different cities around the United Kingdom between 11 am and 11 pm to judge how the services managed through peak times.
The news will come as a gift to the provider as they have been struggling against the Big 3 – Orange, O2 and Vodafone. Due to this struggle there has been a rumour that 3, T-Mobile and BT may team up to tackle the industry.
Better than all the rest!
The broadband tests found that T-Mobile provided the best web browsing and was astonishingly 35 per cent faster than the second fastest provider. T-Mobile also topped the list for download and upload speeds.
Another outstanding results sees the mobile broadband service’s upload speeds to be almost 60 per cent faster than the second fastest service and this is largely due to the intuitive manner T-Mobile took when deploying their HSUPA technology.
Not the first time for T-Mobile.
Yet, this isn’t the first year that T-Mobile have been found to be the top provider of Mobile Broadband, as they also won the prestigious award the year before.
T-Mobile are over the world with the news, as would any company as the rating as top Mobile Broadband provider should attract more and more customers.
CTO of T-Mobile UK, Emin Gurdenli, said, “To be ranked No1 for two consecutive quarters since testing began in April last year is a significant achievement.
“Our consistently high performance is testament to the fact that we continually test and improve our network to make sure our customers are getting the best possible mobile broadband experience.”
Popular sites tested.
Just to make sure that the mobile broadband service worked properly on the sites that are actually used by the customers, the tests included visiting the most popular sites in Britain, such as BBC, Ebay, Bebo and Google.
The test even tested the effects of watching a 90 second video on YouTube to see how the service dealt with the streaming. Clearly T-Mobile came out on top.
“As the number of customers opting for the flexibility and convenience of mobile broadband continues to rise quarter on quarter, we will continue to expand on the potential of mobile broadband, through improved performance and our innovative range of tariffs and laptop bundles,” continued Gurdenli.
