President-elect Barack Obama is desperately seeking a way to hold on to his beloved Blackberry when he takes over the White House on 20th January 2009.
In an interview with ABC’s Barbara Walters, Obama explained to her that he was “in the process of negotiating with the secret service, with lawyers [and] with white-house staff” to have information sent out to “the 10 or 12 people who surround my office.”
Whether he gets to use a Blackberry or laptop will depend on those negotiations. The new president will not be allowed to keep phones as such devices can be tracked which naturally is considered a security risk.
There is also a question of phone records. Al details of phone records must be made available to the general public on request, so for Obama to keep a phone is a bad idea if he wants to have a private text.
Obama wants to “keep [my] finger on the pulse of the struggles that people are going through every day” – I think he means the internet, which in my opinion is not the best place to pick up correct information about the worlds goings on…
