It has been reported that even Pope Benedict XVI has recognised that the future is wireless technology with news that Sprint were employed to supply 600 direct connect handsets during the Popes visit to the US. It seems that the US authorities were concerned that the Pope and his advisers / personnel needed to be in direct contact with each other every step of the way.
While the wireless networks of today have sunk deep into the fabric of every day life, they are also an integral part of the worldwide political scene. We are not just talking mobile phones, we are talking state of the art wireless networks which will transmit events as they happen, allowing diplomats and world leaders to keep in touch with everything that is going on in the world and around them.
The Wireless market of today is almost unrecognisable to that of even a decade ago with technology moving along at lightening fast pace. As new technologies appear so the price of old systems and products falls, but the cycle from premium to traditional pricing has shortened considerably of later.
The iPhone is a prime example of how new technology can affectively ruin the pricing structure of a system released only a matter of months before. Suppliers of the iPhone have been alerted to the fact that a new iPhone will be available later this year and retailers of the original iPhone have been forced to slash prices by as much as 33%!
This shows the risk of even becoming involved in ground breaking technology at such an early stage because while you can make money when demand is high, if you are left with stock when the demand starts to fall it can be very costly.
Reading the new technology market and getting it right every time is a gift!
