In this era of iPod, the new hot thing to have is the iPod accessory. This offspring, which consists of the interesting gadgets like the headphones and docks, is slowly taking over now-a-days.
However, it is the market which dictates the things that we review, so I’ve gone out looking for some cheapest ‘great’ earphones that are available, with the brand name preferably and not the things of Chinese innovation. I didn’t take much time as soon I stumbled across these iBall earphones. (I’m told they retail commonly everywhere.)
Performance and Design
These classic earphones seat at the entrance part of the ear canal; they are not to be inserted like the canal phones. The contemporary feature is a headband, one thin black plastic curvilinear piece which ends in those two earphones. It comfortably fits along the neck, and not over the head.
This design needs the product to appear light, as the ears bear the whole weight of an unit. And this is not flimsy but it is lightweight. The driver bears the tiny logos, along with a silver rim which looks cool. The wire is much long enough, and it ends in the EP jack of 3.5 mm.
It might hurt you if you are using this for the first time, particularly if you are used to the canal phones. Ergonomics are not the greatest and even it takes some time to getting accustomed to. On the other hand, the sound, is really good! It is comparable to the variety of the much expensive counterparts. In fact, there exists some cheaper alternatives even, but they would sound like the whistles in the water.
The bass was not bad, while the sound has good clarity in overall. The vital issue with these cheap headphones – ‘the brightness’ – did not pose much problem. The string instruments and the vocals are right in the front, but they are not jarring. Beats and the other percussive stuff even are tight, although not very deep. Since I wasn’t expecting the depth anyway, I liked the sound.
Verdict
These great earphones are very cheap coming at very few bucks, so the solitary readers and the morning walkers on the tight budget might find these interesting. However, be warned that the lack in the comfort might put you off. Hence try on first if you can than before you buy.
