Though there are almost a dozen models of Cowon players in the market, one common trait which binds them all is the high sound quality. Even a budget player has the sound quality of the lifestyle model. The Cowon iAudio 7 even isn’t of any exception. It is the features and the looks that offer the identity to every Cowon player. Does this model “separate” itself from its siblings?
The Cowon iAudio 7 player sports elegant and simple looks - nothing off-putting or strikingly appealing about the appearance. This has the combination of piano finish and black matte and a red metallic band along the perimeter. There is a TFT-LCD screen of 1.3″ on the front, along with a control pad with touch sensitive on the right. The screen supports a pixel resolution of 160×128 and has the ability of displaying 260K colors. Control pad has four buttons (Record, Play/Pause and two arrows in the opposite directions) placed on the 4 corners of a groove and a square that runs diagonally, connecting those 2 arrow keys.
The Play/Pause button acts as the Select button also, while the Record button gets doubled up as the Back key. You may use the arrow keys to navigate through the menu or the tracks. You could do that either by tapping those arrow keys else by sliding the finger on the groove. The Power Hold/Off/On slider is positioned along top edge of that player along with a volume control and the Menu button. These keys are not touch sensitive as the rest.
The Cowon iAudio 7 measures 35.6×76.1×19 mm as the dimensions and weighs almost about 60 grams along with the built-in Polymer Lithium rechargeable battery. The units come in 4 GB and 8 GB versions.
