AMIMON INC., is now emerging as a pioneer leader in the technology of semiconductor for the transmission of video in high-definition (HD) wirelessly. Today it has announced the availability of its chipset for Wireless High-definition Interface (WHDI). The Wireless High-definition Interface (WHDI) chipset (AMN2210 and AMN2110) allows the manufacturers for CE device and display to enhance the products of home entertainment that are connected wirelessly.
The WHDI chipset can be slotted into the CE devices like accessories of HD and PC video, game consoles, STBs (Set-Top Boxes), DVD players (Blu-ray and HD-DVD), A/V receivers, multimedia projectors, plasma and LCD HDTVs, allowing the uncompressed HD audio and audio streaming.
Noam Geri, the vice president of marketing and business development at AMIMON says, “With the handy WHDI chipsets, the manufacturers of CE now will be capable offering the consumers the wireless HDTVs and the other HD wireless devices of video grounded on the standards of WHDI”. “Consumers must see the initial products that are based on WHDI by the end of the year, with a broad variety of CE products that are based on WHDI available in the year 2008.”
The WHDI of AMIMON makes this possible for the complete-home connectivity net for HD video connectivity net wirelessly that lets the devices to partake the content of HD in the entire home throughout, beyond 30 meters (100 feet) through the walls, while still absolutely maintaining the wire-equivalent, robustness and superb quality with absolutely no latency. This is the only wireless technology that is uncompressed with the ability of covering the complete home.
The CE manufacturers Funai and Loewe will be demonstrating the wireless HDTVs that are based on the WHDI technolog of AMIMON at the tadeshow of Consumer Electronics of IFA in Berlin, from August 31 to September 5, 2007.
Roland Bohl, the Loewe’s director of R&D said, “The enthusiasts of the Home entertainment are demanding more for HDTVs that are wireless and that can be made hanging on the wall without having the need to run an unaesthetic and a cumbersome video/audio wires”. “The WHDI technology of AMIMON brings this demand to come true while still maintaining the high quality of HDTVs.”
The WHDI technology of AMIMONis is based on the unique approach of video modem. WHDI assists the delivery of uncompressed 1080p in conjunction with the video rates that are equivalent up to 3 Gbps at the unlicensed 5GHz band in a 40MHz channel meeting all the compliances of FCC. Uncompressed 24/30p, 1080p, 1080i and 720p (with the video rates equivalent of up to 1.5 Gbps) can be offered in a channel of 20 MHz, in compliance to the worldwide regulations of 5GHz. The range is beyond the 100 feet through the walls (complete home), and the latency is far less than one millisecond.
More than just replacing a wire, the WHDI technology AMIMON’s allows the matrix connectivity of multipoint-to-a multipoint connections, letting the consumers to remove all the wires and cables of A/V in the complete home.
