Belkin has publicized a new USB Hub that is totally cablefree. Being the first of its kind in the industry, this USB Hub doesn’t require a physical cable to connect to the system. This Hub allows people to place their laptop anywhere in the room and still obtain the wireless access to the USB devices, such as printers, scanners, mp3 players and also hard drives. This is optimistically assumed to be the first produce that is UWB-enabled and is being introduced in the US markets. The wireless feature of the USB Hub is made Wideband.

Belkin presents a hub with four ports, which facilitates fast wireless connectivity at a high speed to any USB device and does not need any software. This Cable-Free USB Hub gives the desktop users the facility to place their USB devices wherever inside their room and not requiring the use of lengthy cables. While, the laptop users have the liberty to move around with their laptops unwired and still gain access to those USB devices which are fixed.

This cable-free Belkin USB Hub is quite compatible to around 700 million other USB devices considered to be present in the market now. A market research firm recently stated that the number of similar USB devices is expected to shoot up to 2.1 billion by the year 2009.
